We are proud to continue our relationship with Hummel, and can provide customised team kits in all sizes and colours, these can be embroidered with your team logos and sponsors, as well as names and numbers. Bike Chain Ricci have been stockists of Hummel sports clothing for many years now. Deviating from our usual cycling clothing brands, Hummel are a multi-sport, multi-purpose clothing brand with incredibly high standards. 

Based in Denmark, the firm was started in 1923 by the Messmer family in the town of Hamburg, Germany. It currently manufactures apparel for football, handball, basketball, rugby league, Australian football, shintyand volleyball. The company also produces footwear for football and handball.

 

Why Hummel?

"Initially I was looking for clothing for my professional athletes. We needed technical products that served the purpose at a budget that we could afford. I spoke to many leading suppliers from many different clothing manufacturers. Eventually I spoke to Kevin Batchelor, the UK MD from Hummel. Over the years Bike Chain Ricci and Hummel have worked alongside Team GB, Andy Byatt (World class Quadrathlete), leading businesses, football clubs, and military organisations. Our range of collaborative efforts can be seen below.

The company has manufactured kit for a variety of sports teams and was the official sponsor of the Danish national football team and Cricket South Africa. Club teams which have worn the Hummel brand include Vejle Boldklub, AGF and AC Horsens from the Danish football leagues; clubs such as RC Strasbourg, St Mirren and Polonia Warsaw from outside Denmark as well as the North Queensland Cowboys of the Australian NRL and shinty clubsNewtonmore and Skye Camanachd.

The Hummel logo is a stylised bumble bee, as Hummel is German for bumble bee.
